A slang term used to identify the San Gabriel Valley area of California. It is derived from it's telephone area code after the split from area code 818 in 1997.
Most of these cities are densely populated with those of Chicano, Mexican or Chinese descent. Nearby freeways are always packed with cars, and so are the streets. The 626 is known for the restaurants, shopping, cafes, and anything that involves the spending of income.
